Wordless Wednesday – Ventura County blue skies

Ventura County has deep blue skies and sometimes we are treated to grand clouds.  One morning I stepped outside my backdoor and was treated to this picture.  Check out the sun beams.  Majestic!!

Ventura County shipped out more than 41 million trays of strawberries in 2008 making strawberries the top crop.  Check out the article in the Ventura County Star about the record great year.

We were driving back from the beach on Las Posas Road in Camarillo. The area is filled with sod farms, broccoli and strawberries fields.   
And the Beautiful Flowers!

What is the most visited tourist attraction in Ventura County? 
Reagan Library, Ventura Pier, Gardens of the World, Ventura Mission, Strawberry Festival, Channel Islands National Park???
You guessed it!
The Camarillo Premium Outlet Mall draws people from all over SoCal plus the world.  Have you ever tried to find a parking place on the weekends?

Ventura County – The Calm before the Storm

Greg, my partner, is a  ‘weather’ person.  He loves to watch the weather even though I say we don’t have ‘real weather’ here — we have climate.  I shot this picture of the beautiful Pacific (and Greg) along the PCH just south of Mugu Rock.  The next day Ventura County was blessed with much-needed rain.

Wordless Wednesday – Cal State Channel Islands

Ventura County is blessed to have the newest Cal State University – CSUCI – which opened its doors in 2002.  It was built on the former Camarillo State Hospital.  The grounds and buildings have been renovated to house a state-of-the-art 21st University. 
Just another reason to live in Ventura County!
