Meet Joyce Zangmeister
Joyce Zangmeister has been a Realtor in the 805 area for over two decades. She has had the opportunity and experience of helping hundreds of families buying or selling their homes.
805Local: Your motto is “Doing Real Estate Right.” What does that mean to you?
JZ: When I think about something done right, I think about honesty, correct, dependable. This is the type of service that I pride myself in to my clients.
805Local: Did you always know that you wanted to be a Realtor?
JZ: When I was in college my major was accounting, so I thought I would eventually be working in taxes or accounting. After my children, Chris and Kim, were born and I moved to Ventura County, I decided to combine my interests of people, homes, and ‘numbers’ into real estate. It worked and it keeps working well.
805Local: What do you like about being a Realtor?
JZ: Every day is different. There is always a new opportunity and challenge. Of course, I like helping and working with people. After I complete an escrow, many of my clients have told me I could be a therapist! Buying and selling a home can be an emotional experience.
805Local: You relocated from Louisville, Kentucky. What did you find different between homes in Ventura County and Louisville?
JZ: The first difference was price, of course, but I had never seen homes built in large tracts of 200 homes with only three or four floor plans. That might be common now but it was not the case years ago.
805Local: Any interests or hobbies away from real estate?
JZ: Real estate can become a 24/7 if I am not careful. I’m kind of old fashioned in that I like to cook, grow herbs and try new recipes. I make a tasty almond biscotti and arugula salad to name a few.
805Local: Any words to live by?
JZ: I have learned from my clients – “if momma isn’t happy, no body is happy.”
